Hike for Heart 2018 a Success!

What an incredibly, beautiful day we had for this year’s St. Mary’s - Hike for Heart!

The weather was warm, and the sun was out, which made for excellent hiking weather on the fantastic trails at Laurel Creek Conservation Area.

It was inspiring to see 445 hikers who represented the full spectrum of those who have been touched by heart disease, with survivors, families members and friends all present. As well survivors also had a chance to thank many of the caregivers from the Regional Cardiac Care Program who hiked during the event.

Our friends from The Works, Boston Pizza and Sopas Kitchen once again delivered a delicious spread. A special thank you to the team who flipped burgers in 30-degree heat and had smiles on their faces the entire time as they fed a record number of hungry hikers!

Thank you to Mike Farwell our Hike for Heart MC and Dr Matthew Chamberlain

In total, hikers raised a total of $61,279.52

Thank you so much to our Hike for Heart photographers John Strikwerda and Kevin Doerr! They did an amazing job capturing the day. Be sure to Click Here to view pictures from this year’s hike.

Hope to see you again next year!  Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 15, 2019
