Enabling Early recovery (ERAS)

Enhanced Recovery after Cardiac Surgery

Enhanced Recovery after Cardiac Surgery (ERAS®) aims to quickly return patients to their baseline function. Patient care is goal focused and outcome driven.

St. Mary’s General Hospital Cardiac Surgery Program is using a care model (Reimer-Kent Wellness Model) that includes the principle of ERAS®. We can improve our patient care by preventing or decreasing problems that can happen after surgery. This will let patients to return home faster and safer.
